Music Lessons

Music Lessons

Almost 300 students are enrolled in private music tuition at Villanova College. Lessons are an essential part of the Music Performance Program and of any aspiring musician’s development.

The Music Performance Program is taken in addition to any school curricular involvements. Parents pay for private tutors who in return provide high-quality one-on-one lessons. All students involved in senior music ensembles are required to enrol in private lessons either through Villanova’s program or outside the College. The Music Performance Program Registration Form is available here.

More information on lesson fees, expectations and the structure of the Music Performance Program can be found by downloading the Music Handbook 2025.

Students will be guided through the QCAA approved Instrumental Music Curriculum, which leads to the accrual of points toward their Qld Certificate of Education in Years 11 & 12. Students also have the opportunity to follow the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) or Trinity College London (TCL) syllabi as part of their private study, which involves preparing for and sitting examinations run by these external providers.
