As per previous years of the Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival (QCMF), we will be managing traffic in the streets immediately adjacent to Villanova College and St James Catholic Primary School in Coorparoo to ensure safe transit of our many visiting schools and ensure clear access to homes for residents in streets affected.
We ask that families consider where and how you move around the local area during this time as regular ‘drop zones’ will be inaccessible from Thursday 15 2024 before school through until Sunday evening, 18 August 2024.
We will have three areas under traffic management across the festival. Please refer to the diagrams and notes below for each.
Eighth Avenue – Thursday 15 August from 7:30am through until evening of Friday 16 August
- One-way down Eighth Avenue via Fifth Avenue for buses only adjacent to the College.
- Opposite lane will be under traffic control, one way each way, as directed by controllers.
Dowar Street into Sixth Avenue – Thursday 15 August through until Sunday 18 August.
- No Access from Fifth Ave into Sixth Avenue towards College
- No entry for cars with exception of festival staff, residents and emergency vehicles.
- No bus entry into Sixth Avenue from Fifth (with exception of council buses on school route).
Kirkland Avenue – Thursday 15 August through to Sunday 18 August
- Kirkland Avenue becomes a one-way down-hill street from 3:30pm Thursday 15 August.
- Local traffic may move around the bus drop zone; however, buses will only be allowed to stop at St James’ school.
- No access to Kirkland Avenue from Old Cleveland Road from either direction.
