Tennis Results 2024:  Well done to all Tennis players in 2024. Our First VI finished a remarkable third (this is our best result in Firsts Tennis for many years) and our aggregate teams placed fourth (a huge improvement from 2023).

Tennis is offered to all Villanova students in Term 3, with all matches played on Saturday mornings. Villanova’s home courts are located at Morningside Tennis Centre on Beverly Street, Morningside.

Training occurs twice a week before and after school. Although teams are managed by Villanova staff, parents and Old Boys, all training sessions are run by Morningside Tennis Centre’s accredited and experienced coaches.

Students compete against other Independent schools in the regular AIC Tennis competition. However, they can also verse their fellow Villanova peers in the annual Villanova Tennis Championships, which is held towards the end of the season.

The uniform for tennis players consists of the Villanova squad shirt, green Physical Education shorts, team socks (PE socks) and the Villanova sports cap. All of these are available for purchase at the Uniform Shop.

An intense competition takes place every year for spots in Villanova’s 1st IV and it is seen as an honour to achieve placement in this squad. Preceding this is an advanced development program commencing late Term 1 each year, which our most talented players are invited to partake in. The 1st IV is usually chosen from this development squad.

During the season, additional information such as training times, team lists, staff, schedules and results is available on the College website.
